THE NU
Empowering users to track, understand, and optimize their body like never before.
A precision-health platform built to decode the human body at the molecular level. From ordering test kits to visualizing microbiome and genome insights, I helped craft a user experience that makes complex science feel simple, actionable, and empowering.
I led the complete platform design for The NU across two major phases, the pre-test journey and the post-analysis dashboard. Worked closely with:
1 Product Manager
1 UX Manager
Scientific researchers from Oxford
Developer Team
I created the design system from the ground up, structured complex scientific data into intuitive flows, and ensured every screen balanced clarity with scientific depth.

The project began with an onboarding flow to simplify test kit ordering and tracking. Phase two focused on visualizing detailed results from saliva and stool samples, offering deep insights into brain, heart, telomeres, microbiome, and more.
Weekly strategy calls with the founder and science team helped translate research into usable product logic. I worked in Figma, pushing weekly prototypes and specs to the developer for tight build cycles.
Shared early design sprints within the first week. Used interactive mockups to demonstrate how users would move from raw results to personalized supplement recommendations.

Users would need simple visuals for highly scientific content.
→ Validated through user testing sessions with non-medical users.
→ Shifted to modular cards, progressive disclosure, and health tag summaries.
→ Completion rate of test result reviews
→ Engagement with supplement suggestions
→ Dashboard scroll and click behavior (using session recordings)
→ Platform rated 4.7+ across test groups
→ Result interpretation time reduced by 40%
→ Helped secure investor backing by presenting platform UX to stakeholders
→ Design system scaled across new features without breaking consistency
